Yesterday we went to the town of Porto Venere. It’s a gorgeous coastal town near Cinque Terre. This is the third time i’ve been and it never ceases to amaze me with its beauty, no matter how many times we go. Along the sea Porto Venere has the gorgeous, colorful buildings that Italy is known for. There are also many shops and restaurants with great food. You can also choose to walk the path through the town where there are a lot more small shops and restaurants.
Porto Venere has no shortages of historic areas to visit also. There is an amazing church, The church of St Peter, that you can visit. The church dates back to 1198 and has amazing views if you climb the stairs to the roof of the church. If you want the best views you have to go see Castello Doria, which is the castle in Porto Venere that was built in 1161. It costs 5 euros to tour the castle, but for the views alone it is well worth it!!
If you are in Italy Porto Venere is a must-see, in my opinion. Enjoy the pictures!! 🙂
